[ it is so, so sincerely well-intentioned - so sincerely offered. there's no palatability here so much as there is a shared moment of empathy. a shared chance to have a meal, to spend a little time together, to maybe help soothe some anxiety, be it with a settled stomach or settling company. it does him some good, too.
