[ i lied about the void, taair is actually... in the garden! he's sitting on a blanket, looking up at the stars.
also there's a seagull in his lap. please don't ask. or do. it's chillin. he looks up when he hears lucas, though, and gives him a soft, tired smile. ]
[He will take a polite lil seat, folding his hands in his lap as he looks up toward the sky, too.]
You and I have the same idea, then. There's something about being below a boundless sky that makes one's thoughts feel less confining and large, I think... [And so many of them have SO MANY BIG THOUGHTS RIGHT NOW.] ...A clear head is something we'll all need moving forward, so it's more important than ever.
[ just the biggest thoughts in the world, yeah. he smiles as lucas settles, and then leans back to listen to him properly, expression turned up to the sky. ]
...yes. I think that many of us will be left reeling from this for some time. [ the devastation of charlie's death, rapidly followed by its circumstances - the traumatizing nature of the trial itself. surely this cannot happen more than once! ]
I did not think that 'trials' for redemption could be so literal...
[ surely not!!!!! this is the end of the murder of the murder game ]
... You and I both. [ he says with a little bit of a wince, considering that. oof. ] It does run contrary to the idea of paradise. And... I imagine many of our cadre have already been through many trials in life. They ought not to have to run through even more, in death.
[ a little note of sadness runs through his words, as he shakes his head. ]
But... I agree. I think that they have our best interests at heart - I spoke to Zuriel not all that long ago.
Nothing so exciting, but... I think their intentions and worry for us are very genuine. I think dear Zuriel very much values the bonds they have created, as much as you or I do. They strike me as a bit young, though... don't tell them I told you so.
[ there's a little hint of mischief to that, a blink and you'll miss it twinkle to his eye, before it settles back. ]
I think that perhaps they were once lonely, too. Not anymore, necessarily, but... is not a trait I'm unfamiliar with.
[ after all, his profile says the very same, something he's keenly aware of. lonely. there's a slight pause after he says it, and then he exhales out, slow. ] There's a certain metric of understanding that comes with empathy, I think.
The point is - all three of them care very much. And... I hope perhaps that is where paradise lies - in that despite the events of this week, all of us, our Angels included, will be able to move forward together on the strength of the bonds we have created.
[Oh no the little mischief sparkle... Lucas finds it endearing and response in kind, just a small and private little smile with the tiniest hint of mischief in return.]
Consider it a secret well-kept, my dear. [It's just between them and their axolotl god who sees all...]
...But I think that's not a poor assessment to make. It seems they've had a bit of trouble making connections in the past, so... I do hope that people will be kind to them now. To all of them. I agree; I think they have our best intentions at heart, and they're doing the very best they can with what they have to work with. I imagine it's very stressful for them, too.
week 0, saturday
also there's a seagull in his lap. please don't ask. or do. it's chillin. he looks up when he hears lucas, though, and gives him a soft, tired smile. ]
Lucas... how are you feeling?
no subject
But he'll move over once he spots this lad, offering a small smile.]
A bit perturbed, unfortunately, but otherwise as well as can be expected. How about yourself, dear?
no subject
yes, if they ain’t the mood. taair presses his lips together briefly, and then shakes his head. ]
I think… perturbed is a fine word choice. There are so many things to unpack, I barely know where to even start…
no subject
[GIRL HE'S TIRED. But he'll gesture to a spot on the blanket.]
Do you mind if I join you?
no subject
[ taair says with a little laugh, gentle and pats the spot beside him, scooting right over. ]
I find that sitting outside helps me think, when things are difficult. Looking up at the stars feels like some sort of solace.

...I didn't, either. Rather... I should hope that it wasn't the intention from the start...
[He will feel a certain type of way if that's the case because they made things sound so plush and lovely AND THIS IS DECIDEDLY ANYTHING BUT.]
The angels do seem so very sincere, though.

There's a little hum of agreement at that, though.]
I would say so... Even if trials can be difficult at times, this seems like cruelty in excess. [To say the least.
But at the mention of Zuriel, he looks back over to Taair, head canting to the side a bit.]
You did? What did they say?
