[ taair is sitting out somewhere after the announcement, his head down, sketching something on a sheet of white paper. though, when he realizes he has company, he glances up and offers a small smile, immediately upon recognition. ]
I wrote the obituaries, as well. It felt like so little, in the face of all that we see, but... I firmly believe that we are not forgotten until the world forgets about us - so the longer we hold the memories of those we lose, the longer they continue to live on.
If it is all I can do, to record the stories and the lives of those we lose, then... at least it is something.
Someone received a message - an image. I'm not sure exactly how, but only that they apparently saw sight of the others. With no locations, or anything of the sort, but...
[ but! ]
It is a small hope, but one nonetheless. A sign of life, faint as it may be, is a sign.
...From what I have heard, there has not been time to speak with them of it, yet.
[ aka oocly i think this came out yesterday so ] But...if I had to guess, they did not know about it, either. This may have been a chance - and I know that ours will likely tell them as soon as they're available to us, once more.
I know. It's odd to me as well. It's odd that there is supposed to be a higher power involved, but we are left to our own devices, too.
[ so. there's that. thanks, god!! ] But... they're doing the best they can - and I think you're right. If it's a matter of locating them, then we'll just have to do the best we can to support, and find all those little details so we can work together and bring those we've lost home.
That part is - I don't know. Having to figure out our own way to earn redemption is one thing, but I was expecting a little more guidance for it than this.
[ even madam couldn't be involved in everything, so some delegation is expected. but this much freedom for what amounts to heavenly probation is weird. ]
If I had my powers, I might have been able to try finding them. [ grumbling, because obviously that's a bust. ] How are we even supposed to know where to look for stuff like that? It sounds like it's just a matter of luck.
week 2, friday
Laurence... how are you holding up?
no subject
Not great. [ frankly. but he does peer at the paper to see what taair's up to. ] Were you drawing something...?

Come. Sit with me for a spell? I think I could use the company.
no subject
So you were the one drawing those portraits?

[ there's a little hint of his normal humor there, warm. ] I learned what superglue was, this week.

I bet they'd all appreciate what you're doing if they could see, too.

[ he says, after a moment. ]
I've heard tale that perhaps that is not impossible.

[ after these past few weeks, it feels like a little too much to hope for. but he can't help but hope, at least a little. ]
I hope they are. But - the angels. They'd tell us about that, wouldn't they?

[ this place is more disorganized than the tower by far. it makes his head hurt, a little. ]
But maybe if they know they're out there, they'll be able to bring them back.
