To me.... I suppose redemption means not only coming to an understanding of what you've done, but its consequences, and how it might have impacted others with different perspectives than you. Bringing any truths to light, even if they're hard truths, and then working to better yourself and show change.

Something like that?

From what the angels said, it seems as if our paths to 'redemption' may be quite individualized. How do you see it, Charlie? If you don't mind my asking.

Yes, I think redemption does depend heavily on the individual... it makes sense.

Well. I guess I have some... concerns about this whole process. But I do believe strongly in redemption. It's what my hotel was about, back in Hell.

That's right - you had mentioned your hotel.

Well.... at my hotel, we accept anyone who wants to better themselves. We do all sorts of exercises to help them work towards redemption--- like trust exercises, sharing our feelings, even games sometimes. That sort of thing.

[ slightly strained smile ]

... I take it that's been rather difficult?

No, the redemption has been going wonderfully. My patrons are really special people.

... It's just that Heaven... my Heaven, doesn't want to believe redemption for sinners is possible. They think once you die, that's it. If you're in Hell, you deserve to suffer and die by their hand.

I know the concepts of other worlds is a lot - it certainly is to me, too - but that... could be a potential reason...?
